Account and Access

What controls which records I can see in ValuationXchange?
Your bank is configured with one bank-wide data visibility mode — State-Wide, Department-Wide, or Group-Based — which determines the scope of leads, indication requests, and valuation requests a user can see. Ask your bank admin which mode your bank uses.

What's the difference between State-Wide, Department-Wide, and Group-Based visibility?

  • State-Wide — you can see records across your assigned state(s) (e.g. Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor), regardless of which department or group within that state they belong to.
  • Department-Wide — your view is limited to records belonging to your own department.
  • Group-Based — your view is limited to records belonging to your user group.

What are the platform's access roles?
Every account sits at one of two fixed roles: Bank Admin (full access within your own bank), or Operational User (day-to-day bank user with restricted access). These two roles are the same across every bank and aren't customizable.

What is a Permission Template?
A Permission Template is a bank-configurable preset your Bank Admin creates and applies to a User Group (or its members) to limit what that group can see or do — for example, restricting whether they can create their own records, view other members' records, or manage a team. Banks can define as many or as few templates as they need: for instance, Bank A has set up "HQ Admin" (view & manage all), "Sales Manager" (manage team only, can't create their own), and "Sales Officer" (can't view other members' records) — another bank might not define any custom templates at all. Check your own bank's Permission Templates settings to see what's configured for you.

What is "Single Group Mode," and how does it affect me?
Some banks run in Single Group Mode, where every user belongs to exactly one fixed user group. Other banks let a user belong to multiple groups and switch which one is active.

  • If Single Group Mode is on, you won't see an option to switch groups — your access is tied to your one group.
  • If it's off, you can switch your active group, and the data you see changes to match.

What is a User Group?
A named collection of users (e.g. by branch, team, or department). Each group can have its own member list, notification settings, approval settings, and sharing settings with other groups.

Can I belong to more than one group?
Only if your bank doesn't have Single Group Mode enabled. In that case, you can switch your active group and your visible data changes accordingly.

Who manages my permissions or group membership?
Your bank admin manages user groups, applies permission templates, and controls sharing between groups from the User Groups settings area.
