Buyer's FAQ

Q: What is PaymentXchange and why am I being asked to use it?

A: PaymentXchange is the official and secure payment channel used by the agency to collect deposits. It ensures your payment goes to the correct account, shows you the property and agency details before you pay, and protects you from scams or wrong transfers. Behind the scenes, PX uses a certified payment gateway (CHIP) with bank-grade security and OTP, and it automatically generates a digital receipt and audit trail that both you and the agency can rely on if there are any questions later. It also helps the agency and bank process your case faster, because your payment, details, and documents are captured cleanly in one place instead of scattered across WhatsApp and manual bank-in slips.

Q: Is PaymentXchange a payment gateway?

A: No. PaymentXchange is not a payment gateway. It is a payment orchestration and management platform designed specifically for property transactions. PaymentXchange creates and manages secure payment requests, captures buyer details and consent, tracks payment status, and provides receipts and audit records. The actual payment processing is handled by a certified payment gateway (CHIP), which supports FPX and card payments and manages bank authentication and OTPs

Q: How does PaymentXchange keep my information safe?

A: While PaymentXchange manages the payment request and records, the actual payment processing is handled through a certified payment gateway (CHIP) using secure encryption, OTP (TAC) authentication, and regulated banking rails such as FPX and card networks. Importantly, neither PaymentXchange nor CHIP handles or stores your online banking or card credentials. When you make a payment, you are securely redirected to your bank’s official portal or payment network to complete the transaction. Your login details and authentication are entered directly on the bank’s site, not within PaymentXchange. This means your sensitive banking information remains within your bank’s environment at all times, while PaymentXchange provides a safe, traceable, and auditable way to manage and confirm your payment.

Q: Do I need to sign up for a PaymentXchange account to pay, or can I checkout as a guest?

A: Buyers don't need to create an account to view a payment request page. Instead, PaymentXchange auto-creates your account when you verify your mobile number while making payments. Your verified phone number is your account identity. To view receipts or transactions history Buyers can do so by logging in with their verified phone number (TAC login).

Q: What is CHIP?

A: CHIP is a licensed and certified payment gateway that securely processes online payments. It connects PaymentXchange to regulated banking networks such as FPX (online banking) and card payment rails, and handles the technical aspects of payment authentication, encryption, and OTP (TAC) verification.

When you make a payment through PaymentXchange, CHIP facilitates the transaction by redirecting you to your bank’s official payment portal to complete the payment. CHIP does not store your online banking credentials, and all sensitive authentication happens directly within the bank’s environment.
